Alika Fashion Store specializes in handcrafted, made-to-order ethnic wear including sarees, kurtis, salwar sets, and other traditional Indian garments. Each piece is carefully crafted by our team of 60+ women artisans across Kerala, India, following traditional embroidery techniques passed down through generations since the 1930s.

Our Mission: To empower women artisans through fair-trade craft while preserving traditional Indian embroidery techniques and promoting sustainable slow fashion.

3. MADE-TO-ORDER POLICY

3.1 Production Process

ALL products sold by Alika Fashion Store are made to order. This means:

  • Products are NOT pre-made or stored in warehouses
  • Production begins AFTER your order is confirmed and payment is received
  • Each piece is handcrafted specifically for you by skilled artisans
  • Production time is 3-4 weeks from order confirmation

3.2 Production Timeline

Standard Production Time: 3-4 weeks (21-28 business days)

This timeline includes:

  • Fabric sourcing and quality inspection (2-3 days)
  • Hand embroidery and craftwork (14-21 days)
  • Quality assurance and finishing (3-4 days)

Dispatch: Products are dispatched within 1 working day after production completion.

Note: Production time does NOT include shipping/delivery time. Total time from order to delivery = Production time (3-4 weeks) + Shipping time (as per your location).

3.3 Rush Orders

We DO NOT accept rush orders or expedited production requests. The 3-4 week timeline is essential to maintain our quality standards and respect the artisan's craft. Please plan your purchases accordingly.

3.4 Order Modifications

Once an order is placed and production has begun, modifications to size, color, design, or customization are NOT possible. Please review your order carefully before confirming payment.

4. PRODUCT INFORMATION

4.1 Product Descriptions

We strive to provide accurate product descriptions, images, and specifications. However:

  • Colors may vary slightly due to screen settings and photography lighting
  • Hand embroidery may have minor variations as each piece is handcrafted
  • Natural fabrics may have slight texture variations
  • These variations are NOT defects but characteristics of authentic handcrafted products

4.2 Product Availability

Products shown on our website are made to order. However, we reserve the right to:

  • Discontinue any product without prior notice
  • Limit quantities available for purchase
  • Refuse orders at our discretion

4.3 Measurements and Sizing

  • Size charts are provided for reference
  • Measurements may vary by ±1 inch due to handcrafted nature
  • Please refer to our size guide before ordering
  • Custom measurements may be accommodated (contact us before ordering)

5. PRICING AND PAYMENT

5.1 Pricing

  • All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR)
  • Prices are inclusive of GST (Goods and Services Tax) where applicable
  • Prices are subject to change without notice
  • The price at the time of order confirmation is the final price

5.2 Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, American Express)
  • UPI (Unified Payments Interface)
  • Net Banking
  • Digital Wallets (Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, etc.)
  • Cash on Delivery (COD) - for select locations only

5.3 Payment Security

  • All payments are processed through secure, encrypted payment gateways
  • We do NOT store your credit card or banking information
  • Payment information is handled by certified third-party payment processors

5.4 Order Confirmation

  • Orders are confirmed ONLY after successful payment
  • You will receive an order confirmation email with order details
  • Production begins only after payment confirmation

6. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

6.1 Shipping Locations

We ship across India and internationally. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by location.

Domestic Shipping (India):

  • Metro Cities: 3-5 business days after dispatch
  • Other Cities/Towns: 5-7 business days after dispatch
  • Remote Areas: 7-10 business days after dispatch

International Shipping:

  • Delivery times vary by country (10-21 business days)
  • Customs duties and taxes are the responsibility of the customer
  • International orders may be subject to customs delays

6.2 Shipping Costs

  • Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on delivery location
  • Free shipping may be offered on orders above a certain amount (as indicated during checkout)
  • International shipping costs vary by destination and weight

6.3 Order Tracking

  • You will receive a tracking number via email once your order is dispatched
  • Track your order through our courier partner's website

6.4 Delivery Issues

Undelivered Orders:

  • If courier attempts delivery and you're unavailable, they will make 2-3 attempts
  • Unclaimed packages will be returned to us
  • Re-delivery charges may apply

Lost or Damaged in Transit:

  • Report damaged packages within 48 hours of delivery
  • We will arrange replacement or refund for damaged items
  • Claims must be supported by photos of damaged packaging and product

7. RETURNS, EXCHANGES, AND CANCELLATIONS

7.1 Cancellation Policy

BEFORE Production Begins (Within 24 hours of order):

  • Orders can be cancelled for a full refund

AFTER Production Begins (After 24 hours):

  • Orders CANNOT be cancelled as production is already underway
  • No refund will be provided for cancelled orders after production begins
  • This is due to the made-to-order nature of our products

7.2 Return Policy

Made-to-Order Products:

  • Made-to-order products are generally NOT eligible for return or exchange
  • Each piece is crafted specifically for you based on your order

EXCEPTIONS - Returns Accepted ONLY if:

  1. Manufacturing Defect:

    • Significant stitching errors
    • Fabric tears or damage
    • Wrong embroidery or design error
    • Color mismatch from product description

  2. Wrong Product Delivered:

    • You received a completely different product than ordered

  3. Damaged During Shipping:

    • Product arrived damaged (with proof of damaged packaging)

NOT Accepted as Valid Return Reasons:

  • Change of mind
  • Color appears different on screen vs reality (natural variation)
  • Minor variations in hand embroidery
  • Size doesn't fit (unless we sent wrong size)
  • Product doesn't match expectations

7.3 Return Process

If you receive a defective or wrong product:

  1. Contact us within 7 days of delivery

  2. Return Authorization

    • We will review your claim
    • If approved, we'll provide return shipping instructions
    • DO NOT ship the product back without authorization

  3. Return Shipping

    • For defective/wrong products: We cover return shipping
    • For other returns: Customer pays return shipping

  4. Inspection

    • Returned product will be inspected within 5-7 business days
    • Product must be unused, unwashed, with all tags intact

  5. Resolution

    • Refund: Processed within 7-10 business days
    • Replacement: New product will be made (3-4 weeks production time)

7.4 Exchange Policy

We do NOT offer direct exchanges. If you want a different size or color:

  • Return the original product (if eligible)
  • Place a new order for desired item
  • Both processes will follow standard timelines

7.5 Refund Process

Approved refunds will be processed as follows:

  • Refund method: Same payment method used for purchase
  • Processing time: 7-10 business days after product inspection
  • Bank processing time: Additional 5-7 business days (varies by bank)

Shipping charges are non-refundable except in cases of wrong/defective products sent by us.

8. QUALITY ASSURANCE

Every Alika product undergoes rigorous quality checks:

  • Fabric inspection for flaws
  • Embroidery consistency verification
  • Measurement accuracy check
  • Final finishing and pressing
  • Quality seal approval

8.2 Handcrafted Variations

Because our products are handcrafted:

  • Minor variations in embroidery density and pattern are normal
  • Slight color variations in hand-dyed fabrics may occur
  • Measurements may vary by ±1 inch
  • These are NOT considered defects

9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

9.1 Copyright and Trademarks

  • Product designs and patterns
  • Photographs and images
  • Text, graphics, logos
  • Website design and layout

9.2 Use Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Copy or redistribute our product images
  • Use our brand name or logo without permission

12.3 Maximum Liability

Our maximum liability is limited to the purchase price of the product in question.

13. FORCE MAJEURE

We are NOT responsible for delays or failures in performance resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control, including:
